How it works
We work with underprivilege communities with no access to recycling facilities and provide them with small scale recycling machines to shred and mould plastic, allowing them to create beautiful, 100% recycled products that become part of each community’s alternative source of income. These products are then sold, mainly as corporate gifts.
This project was inspired by the open-source project Precious Plastic founded by Dave Hakkens.

How can I get involved?

What is the estimated production time?
- The production time varies based on the product and the number of moulds available to make the item. One mould is able to produce up to 100 pieces of coasters in a day.
- In general: 8-10 weeks for mould design & production 8-12 weeks for 1,000 pieces production per mould

Can I request other types of products from Beyond Bins?
For the most part, yes. We are currently exploring other types of products to be made from our small-scale recycling machines. Speak to us for more details!
Does Beyond Bins offer any interactive showcase for on-ground activations?
Yes, we do! Our small-scale recycling machine consisting of a shredder, extruder and injection moulder is often the star at showcases. As a recycling effort, your event participants will be encouraged to bring their own plastic bottles, sort and shred them using the machine. Contact us for the price details!

What type of plastics can I drop-off?
We accept plastics from these 3 codes:
- Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) like sport drink, condiment and mouthwash bottles.
- High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) like milk jugs, cleaning agents, detergents, bleaching agents,shampoo bottles and bottle caps.
- Polypropylene (PP) like medicine bottles, yogurt containers, deli food containers and straws.

What companies/ clients have you collaborated with in the past?
We have collaborated with SCORE Sports Management Sdn Bhd to run a project COWAY RUN 2022- Unite to Create in 2022 and customised medal prizes for their participants. Our past collaborations also include customised coasters gifts for Perdana Fellows Alumni Association, Milo, Adidas, Khazanah Nasional, office wall coaster design for Yayasan Hasanah and an interactive plastic waze maze experience for Julie’s Plastic Sustainability Awareness Campaign.
